The ATLAS Tile Calorimeter Tools for Data Quality Assessment

چکیده
The ATLAS Tile Calorimeter (TileCal) is the central part of hadronic calorimeter experiment and provides important information for reconstruction hadrons, jets, decays tau leptons missing transverse energy. readout segmented into nearly 10000 channels that are calibrated by means Cesium source, laser, charge injection, integratorbased systems. data quality (DQ) relies on extensive monitoring both collision calibration data. Automated checks performed a set pre-defined histograms results summarized in dedicated web pages. A tools then used operators further inspection acquired with goal spotting origins problems or other irregularities. Consequently, TileCal conditions (calibration constants, channel statuses etc) updated databases data-reprocessing, serve as an input maintenance works during shutdown periods. This talk reviews software DQ emphasis recent developments aiming to integrate all single platform.

Noise Characterization of the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter Readout System
It is shown that the addition of a low pass RC filter to the current ATLAS Tile Calorimeter 3-in-1 card decreases the high frequency noise. A peak in the output voltage is found for 29 Mhz input noise but is filtered out by the same low pass filter.
متن کاملEvent filter monitoring with the ATLAS tile calorimeter
The ATLAS Tile Calorimeter detector is presently involved in an intense phase of subsystems integration and commissioning with muons of cosmic origin. Various monitoring programs have been developed at different levels of the data flow to tune the set-up of the detector running conditions and to provide a fast and reliable assessment of the data quality already during data taking. This paper fo...
متن کاملThe ATLAS Tile Calorimeter Test Beam Monitoring Program
During 2003 test beam session for ATLAS Tile Calorimeter a monitoring program has been developed to ease the setup of correct running condition and the assessment of data quality. The program has been built using the Online Software services provided by the ATLAS Online Software group. The first part of this note contains a brief overview of these services followed by the full description of Ti...
متن کاملEeect of the Tile Calorimeter Thickness in the Atlas Barrel Calorimeter Performance
We report on the study of the eeect of the Tile calorimeter thickness in the ATLAS Barrel calorimeter performance. The reduction of the Tile Calorimeter depth by 20 cm would have severe consequences on the hadron calorimeter performance and would increase the punchtrough probability in the muon chambers placed behind the calorimeter. Cost savings are also analysed.
متن کاملCALIBRATION AND MONITORING OF THE TILE HADRONIC CALORIMETER OF ATLAS WITH A 137Cs SOURCE
Monitoring and intercalibration of the ATLAS TileCal is based on a hydraulically driven gamma source system. Extensive R&D has been carried out and has led to a detailed design for the full ATLAS TileCal. A prototype system has been built and tested on the Barrel and Extended Barrel modules. The realisation of the Cs source system, results concerning its performance, comparisons with other cali...
